Aberg finished as the runner-up – four shots off Scottie Scheffler as the American world No1 won his second Green Jacket.

After a sensational putt on the ninth hole, the Swede’s Masters dream seemed possible.

But at the halfway point of the course, Aberg suffered an unlikely nightmare.

Looking for an extra boost on his way to the tenth, the golfer was seen eating an energy bar and lapping up the applause from patrons.

But disaster struck when a fan accidentally gave him a too powerful high-five, which led to him dropping his snack on the floor.

Aberg looked down at the grass in devastation before walking away with a smile on his face.

And fans were left in stitches, with one saying: “So funny.”

Another added: “The way he dealt with it shows he’s a class act.”

More joked: “Get him a pimento cheese sandwich asap.”

A fourth laughed: “Five second rule.”

Without the energy from the bottom half of his snack bar, Aberg hit a double-bogey two holes later as Scheffler ran away with it to finish 11 under par.

Aberg finished on -7, above Colin Morikawa, Max Homa and Tommy Fleetwood, who tied in third on -4.
