Supercomputer predicts final Premier League table after Arsenal and Liverpool slip up – will there be another twist?

THERE are now just SIX games to go to decide the Premier League’s final table and this years champion.

Before the weekend Manchester City were having to play catch up as they sat a point behind both Arsenal and Liverpool, with the Gunners leading on goal difference.

However, a 5-1 win over Luton put them top again with their title rivals to play in front of their own fans on Sunday.

Liverpool were up first, losing 1-0 to Crystal Palace with a catalogue of missed chances.

Arsenal were next, losing 2-0 to Aston Villa after being outdone by a superb tactical masterplan constructed by former Gunners boss Unai Emery.

And that has left Pep Guardiola‘s defending Treble champions two points clear in the drivers seat looking for an unprecedented fourth Premier League title on the bounce.

With six games to go, BETSiE‘s supercomputer has run the numbers – which takes into account multiple data points including xG, xA and runs the simulation, 100,000 times – to see the final table.

It reveals that Man City will deny Arsenal’s desperate bid to end their 20-year title drought and also block Liverpool from matching Manchester United with the most English League titles (20).

City are predicted to finish top with 86 points, with Arsenal second with 85 and Liverpool third with 84.

Below them Villa will get themselves back into the Champions League for the first time since 1983 by finishing fourth on 69 points.

Tottenham will be two points behind in fifth followed by Newcastle, Man Utd and Chelsea, with Toon on 60 points, Red Devils on 58 and Blues on 56.

West Ham and Brighton will make up the top ten with 52 and 51 points respectively.

Bournemouth, Wolves and Fulham will have a three point spread between them in midtable, while Crystal Palace do enough to stay ahead of Everton.

Dogged by point deductions, the Toffees will have earned one more point than struggling Brentford who will finish on 38.

However, Nottingham Forest will scrape to safety with 33 points, just two more than Luton , who will be the final team to see their Prem status relinquished.

Meanwhile, Burnley and Sheffield United will prop up the table by finishing on 25 and 22 points respectively.
