DANA WHITE erupted the UFC 300 post-fight press conference by announcing Conor McGregor’s return fight against Michael Chandler.
Alex Pereira had just knocked out Jamahal Hill in one round of the historic headliner in Las Vegas.
Conor McGregor makes his UFC return on June 29[/caption]And just when fans thought the drama had come to a close – White dropped the mother of all bombshells.
Reading from his notes, he said: “June 29th, Conor versus Chandler. Five rounds, 170lb.”
The press tent outside the T-Mobile Arena broke into cheers as the sport’s greatest star finally has his next fight date announced.
Just 24 hours beforehand, White was forced to deny that a deal had been struck with McGregor.
And he revealed it was only on UFC 300 fight day that terms were officially agreed with the former two-weight champion.
McGregor, 35, has not fought since brutally breaking his leg in the first round against Dustin Poirier, 35, in July 2021.
After recovering from the horror injury, the Irishman spent the last year begged for a return date.
And at one point he appeared to be at loggerheads with the UFC as several pleas to fight were shot down.

And it will be at welterweight, despite the two last fighting at lightweight.
